One-to-one Socratic tutoring works by listening to a learner's reasoning, asking the next useful question, and returning to the exact point of confusion. Socratiq is designed around that same conversational loop, with a persistent map of concepts, dependencies, and unresolved confusions. It extends individualized, question-led practice beyond a scheduled tutoring session.

HOW IT WORKS
A course becomes a conversation.
Read or listen at your own pace, then explain what you know in your own words. Lessons are mapped into concepts and prerequisite relationships, so tutoring can connect a new confusion to the foundation behind it.
1. Learn
Read lessons yourself or have it read out loud with voice choices, selection reading, and pause and resume controls.
2. Discuss
Type or dictateDictation is transcribed entirely in your browser. Your microphone audio never leaves your device; only the editable text is sent if you choose to submit it. a response. Socratiq asks questions that probe your reasoning and keeps track of confusions so later tutoring can revisit them.
3. Demonstrate
Show what you understand in your own words. Socratiq records evidence concept by concept, including dependencies and missing foundations that need attention.

Socratiq is open-source educational software operated on a not-for-profit basis. The project, its deployment, and its AI inference are currently privately supported.
PRIVACY
Student responses are used for learning—not advertising.
Student responses are used only to provide tutoring, record learning progress, and debug, evaluate, or improve Socratiq. They are not sold, used for advertising, or used to build unrelated profiles.
Socratiq operates its own AI inference instances. Student conversations are not sent to external hosted LLM providers.
